One of the purposes of Save Our Earth is to educate people about our planet. To help the Earth, we first need to understand it and the challenges it is facing. That is why one of our goals at Save Our Earth is to educate our friends, families, communities, and the wider world about what is happening and how we can work to save our planet.
Look below to learn more about the problems our Earth is facing.
Climate change is the long-term warming of Earth’s climate caused mostly by human activities like burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests. This results in rising temperatures, extreme weather events, melting ice, and threats to ecosystems and human life.
Plastic pollution occurs when plastic waste enters the environment, especially oceans, rivers, and soil. Since plastic takes hundreds of years to break down, it harms wildlife, pollutes water, and even enters the food chain as microplastics, threatening both ecosystems and human health.
Endangered animals are species at risk of extinction due to threats such as habitat loss, climate change, poaching, and pollution. Protecting them is vital for maintaining biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.
Habitat loss happens when natural environments (such as forests, wetlands, or grasslands) are destroyed or altered so drastically that animals and plants can no longer survive there. It is one of the leading drivers of species extinction.
Deforestation happens when a large area of tress is cut down or destroyed for human needs. This is very similar to habitat loss because animals and plants loose their homes, therefor making them endangered.
Air pollution happens when harmful substances such as smoke, chemicals, and gases are released into the air from vehicles, factories, and burning fuels. It damages human health (causing breathing problems and diseases), harms wildlife, and contributes to climate change.
